Protests continued for the second day on Wednesday, condemning the killing of 20 Tamils in the forest area at Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Tuesday.

About 50 students of the Government Arts College raised slogans against the Andhra Pradesh Government and burnt the image of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu. Students urged the Union Government to dismiss the Andhra Pradesh government, holding it responsible for the ‘merciless killing’.

They also urged the government to take stringent action against the police officers and personnel who carried out the killings. Student protestors warned about a series of protests if the Government at the Centre did not take immediate action against those involved in the incident. At Papanaickenpalayam, the police blocked 19 Naam Tamilar Katchi cadre who tried to picket an online booking centre of Tirupathi Tirumala Devasthanam at a shopping complex. After some push and pull the protestors were removed from the place. They were released later that day. There was no government bus operation to Tirupathi or other parts of Andhra Pradesh for the second consecutive day. Private buses too cancelled their trip to destinations in the State or journeys through the State.
