Disgruntled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and State Secretary G.K. Selvakumar made peace with the party nominee C.P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday by crowning him with flowers and attending a meeting of party functionaries.

Mr. Selvakumar, who aspired to be BJP’s Coimbatore nominee for the Lok Sabha elections had avoided meeting party leaders. His supporters had staged a sit-in protest at the party office. Senior leaders from Chennai had to pacify Mr. Selvakumar’s supporters.

Things did not end there. He even obtained nomination papers from the district election officials, causing discomfiture among the BJP cadre here. But the issue was resolved on Thursday. He participated in the meeting along with Mr. Radhakrishnan and representatives of political parties in the National Democratic Alliance. Hundreds of workers too attended the meeting.
