Cash to the tune of Rs. 18 lakh was reportedly stolen from the bag of a bus passenger at Dharapuram on Friday evening.
According to the police, the cash was stolen from Mubarak, who was travelling in a government bus from Madurai to Mettupalayam.
The incident occurred when the bus stopped in front of a hotel for a tea break, sources said.
When Mubarak came back from the hotel, the bag containing cash, which he had kept in the bus, was found missing.
