Plea to provide basic facilities in Chikkadasampalayam village

Children from Ukkan Nagar in Chikkadasampalayam village, near Mettupalayam, along with their parents petitioned the District Collector, on Monday, seeking basic amenities in their village. They claimed that there were more than 100 families at Ukkan Nagar.President of Ukkan Nagar Kudiirupor Nala Sangam U.R. Palanisamy claimed that the State Government gave free house sites to them in October last.

But they were yet to get drinking water, electricity, roads, toilets, and drainage.

He claimed that the villagers have petitioned the authorities concerned many times in vain. The children said that their studies were affected.

Transfer certificate

K. Sree Bhuvaneshwari of Maariyapuram in Karamadai sought help to get a transfer certificate from the school where she studied, till last year. In a petition, she said that her parents were living separated.

They were staying in Vadavalli, and wanted to move to Karamadai along with her mother.

The private school at Vadavalli where she had completed Standard VII last year was refusing to give her transfer certificate and final mark sheet, the petition said. Even her representation to a top Education Department officer had gone in vain. “Without a transfer certificate I am unable to continue schooling,” she added.

Mobile tower

Residents of Indira Nagar in Kannampalayam Town Panchayat led by its chairman T. Thalapathi Murugeshen sought removal of a mobile tower coming up atop a house, illegally. He claimed that a case was pending before a court.Salary

Vincent alias Vetrivel of Karur who was working in the canteen of a private college near K.G. Chavadi in March this year sought help to get back the salary that was withheld by the institution.

He claimed that the college promised Rs. 15,000 a month as salary but gave him only Rs. 5,000.

Though the police had registered a case in April but had not taken any action against the college management or helped him get his salary. He sought action against the college and the police.

Tasmac

Residents of Peelamedu in Ward 57 of Coimbatore Corporation led by BJP city president C.R. Nandakumar sought closure of two Tasmac outlets (shop no. 1664 and 1650) that were located at a distance of less than 100 m at Masakalipalayam Road.

They were causing inconvenience to residents, a petition said.
