Philips India, which launched two products in the personal care segment here on Thursday, sees huge potential in the emerging cities.

Shumit Mongha, head-marketing, personal care – consumer lifestyle, Philips India, told presspersons that the product has been launched in 18 emerging cities such as Jaipur, Varanasi, Ludhiana and Patna. Personal care is one of the fastest growing segments.

The market for personal care products in the country is about Rs. 11,000 crore. Nearly 40 per cent of volume comes from emerging cities. Consumers in these cities need value for money, long-lasting and skin friendly products. They prefer to have do-it-yourself products at home. Philips has products for men and women in this segment, he said.
