Higher Education Secretary Sunil Paliwal met officials of the Bharathiar University on Wednesday to discuss ways to set right the system.
Speaking to The Hindu , he said that though he met the members of the Convener Committee, it was not a Convener Committee meeting.
Intention of visit
He was at the university to “explore ways to streamline the administration, work on files and issue directions to take forward the institution.”
He also looked into complaints that there were efforts to present part-time, external Ph.Ds as regular ones. The two would remain separate, Mr. Paliwal said.
He also indicated that there would be no change in the composition of the Convener Committee, adding that wrongdoings would not be tolerated.
