Being a defence establishment not only steeped in history but also unique in many ways the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) located amid beautiful surroundings at Wellington near here has over the past few years been playing host to visitors representing different sections of the armed forces from within the country and abroad.

In tune with this 28 cadets and an officer from the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, spent four days of their mid-term break at the MRC .

Impressed with the historical ambience of the Barracks Square and rejuvenated by the salubrious weather of Wellington and its surroundings the cadets including seven from friendly countries like Afghanistan and Tonga and five women made the most of their visit.

They familiarised themselves with the methods adopted at the MRC to train soldiers and officers and brushed up their knowledge of warfare in the days of yore at the famous museum of the Madras Regiment. They also interacted with the Commandant of the MRC Brigadier S. Suresh Kumar.
