Tamil Nadu Ex-Airmen Welfare Association, Coimbatore Unit, on Sunday demanded that the Central Government immediately implement the ‘One Rank, One Pension’ scheme for ex-servicemen.

A resolution placing this demand was passed during a general body meeting held on Sunday.

According to President G.E. Meyers and General Secretary G. Sankaran, the association also sought priority for ex-servicemen in government recruitment.

Further, it also demanded that a private hospital in Coimbatore be soon empanelled with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme.

At present, the nearest empanelled hospital was at Salem.

The association urged the State Government to accord exemption for ex-servicemen from house tax. This concession had already been made in many States.

The association also celebrated its seventh anniversary on Sunday.

Air Commodore M.S.G. Menon, Commanding Officer, Air Force Administrative College, Coimbatore, and Lakshmi Menon, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association, took part.
