Hundreds of students from over 20 colleges on Wednesday came to the road to form a human chain on Avanashi Road to extend support to Gandhian activist Anna Hazare who is on a fast demanding a strong Lokpal bill as part of his crusade against corruption.

The students lined up along the Avanashi Road from Anna Statue to Lakshmi Mills forming a human chain.

The participants held the National Flags and placards flaying corruption and hailing Anna Hazare.

Many of the students had painted their face with national tri-colour.

The formation of human chain began from President Hall, where the Fifth Pillar activists are on a fast extending support to Mr. Anna Hazare.

Mr. Vijay Anand of Fifth Pillar said that it was a spontaneous and voluntary participation from the student community that led to the human chain which was not part of the agenda.
