The district administration has declared a holiday in areas that will go to by-elections on September 18. The district administration has directed the Tasmac to close down certain liquor outlets from 5 p.m. on Tuesday to 5 p.m. on Thursday. The Tasmac liquor outlets closer to the counting centres will remain closed on September 22 too, when the counting of votes are held.
