Students appearing for the engineering counselling this year were asked to learn more about the courses and colleges before choosing an engineering programme, at a guidance session conducted here on Sunday.
The session was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry and Erode chapter of Young Indians with the objective of guiding Plus II students to choose, at the BVB Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
Speaking on the occasion, Kongu Engineering College Principal S. Kuppuswami asked the students to prepare a list of colleges and courses they like.
“If possible visit the campuses of the colleges in your shortlist and learn about the facilities available in the institutions,” he told the students.
Mr. Kuppuswami asked the students to go through information on career opportunities in different sectors before choosing a course.
Speakers in the programme also explained various procedures followed by the Anna University during the single window counselling for admissions to engineering courses.
Vikram Ramakrishnan from CS Academy also spoke.
CII Erode Chapter Chairman Dr. K.M. Abul Hasan, Young Indians Erode Chapter Chair VPS Radhakrishnan, Convenor of the CII's Education and HR panel AGV Narayanan and members of the CII were present.
