Problem returns: Two-wheeler riders having a tough time at the Kikani underpass in the city on Wednesday.

Two days after the civic body drained out sewage from the railway underpass near Kikani school, the place was flooded with sewage, once again.

Starting Wednesday morning, sewage began to trickle in by around 9 a.m. and place was soon flooded. Office goers had a tough time wading through ankle-deep sewage and two-wheelers had to slow down speed to navigate through the cesspool.

During the last weekend, the Corporation had to completely close the road on both sides of the underpass as it was filled with sewage. The civic body deployed workers and by Sunday evening cleared the subway for traffic.

The workers had identified that the stretch of the sewer line south of the underpass till the Syrian Church Road was choked and that led to the sewage stagnation.

On Wednesday, the officials said that the sewer line north of the underpass, behind the Kikani school campus could have been choked with silt.

The workers had started operation and that they would remove the block if any by evening.

By Wednesday the officials said that the sewer line was blocked in Rangasamy Street and the workers had cleared the block and also drained out sewage from the underpass.

They also said that they opened the stretch for traffic.
