INTEC fair from June 5

Coimbatore District Small Industries’ Association Intec Technology Centre will organise the 16{+t}{+h}edition of International Industrial Trade Fair (INTEC) here at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex from June 5 to 9.

As many as 425 participants are expected from different parts of the country and also other countries. The business turnover expected at the event is nearly Rs. 600 crore.

V. Sundaram, vice-president of the association, told presspersons here on Thursday that the exhibition will have demonstration of machinery, buyer-seller meets and a conference on innovation. Over 25 foreign companies are participating through their Indian representatives or directly. Their exhibits will include robotics, packaging machinery, etc. Over 50,000 business visitors are expected from India and abroad. The products on display will include machine tool accessories, material handling equipment, CNC machinery and accessories, measuring machinery, automobile components, etc.

Giriraj Singh, Minister of State for MSMEs, will be the chief guest for the inaugural on June 5 and Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for MSMEs, will be chief guest for the valedictory event on June 9. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. for business visitors and for others from 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Hindu is the media partner for the exhibition.

The Codissia plans to organise the exhibition once in two years, added P.N. Balasubramanian, chairman of INTEC 2015.

The conference on “Innovation” (Global Manufacturing Cluster Vision 2020) will have about 200 participants. Aravind S. Bharadwaj, senior vice-president – advanced technology and services, automotive and farm equipment sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra, will inaugurate the conference.

There will be a panel discussion on “The Captainship – First Generation Entrepreneurs”, according to D.K. Karthikeyan, Director-Projects of Texas Ventures. Indo-German, Indo-French, Indo-African and Indo-Arab chambers of commerce are foreign chamber partners for the event.
