Hindu outfit activist assaulted in Valparai

The Coimbatore District Rural Police have arrested two persons and are on the lookout for another person on the charge of allegedly assaulting M. Suresh of Valparai, a member of a Hindu outfit.

About a month ago, Kutty alias D. Stephen Raj, S. Musthafa, and M. Joseph, of Valparai, objected to Suresh conducting meetings in the locality and threatened to murder him. Based on Suresh’s complaint, the Valparai police have registered a case. Stephen Raj and Musthafa have been arrested and police are on the lookout for Joseph.

Credit card fraud

A 57-year-old resident of Pollachi had lost Rs. 3.50 lakh from his credit card account.

According to the police, P.M. Kamaraj, a hotel proprietor, got a message on Monday informing him that a purchase had been made in an online shopping portal using his credit card.

Upon checking his transactions, Kamaraj found that someone else had used his credit card to make purchases. The credit card fraud was suspected to have taken place between June 1 and August 23.
