Developed at a cost of Rs. 8.5 crore, which was shared equally by the State and Central Governments, the facility was inaugurated by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa via video conference from Chennai on May 6. Spread across 6.71 acres, it has hundreds of scientific exhibits, a 3-D theatre and an auditorium besides a science park featuring models of dinosaurs.
