Girl students forced to clean school toilets

A shocking incident of forcing girl students to clean school toilets has come to light in a government middle school in a village near here.

Reports in local evening newspapers here on Tuesday claimed that some girl students of the Thondipalayam Government Middle School near Konkanapuram were caught on mobile phone cleaning the toilets.

The students were also forced to work on a site where three additional class rooms are being constructed under the SSA at a cost of Rs.13.35 lakh.

The same video grab also showed students and teachers watching latest Tamil movies on laptops during class hours. The video grabs were leaked to local media here by some teachers, sources said.

Officials of the Department of School Education had placed the teachers and the headmaster under suspension.

Probe ordered

The department has ordered a probe into the incident at the Thondipalayam school.
