The Salem District Motor Bike Mechanics Association will offer free repair service for two-wheelers coming to Yercaud for the 39th annual Summer Festival on June 7 and 8.

“We are extending the free service for the third consecutive year,” said association president K. Srinivasan.

In 2012, 285 two-wheelers were provided service free of cost and in 2013 the number of vehicles went up to 327.

This year the association will set up stalls at the check post at the foothills, 60-feet bridge, Muniappa Temple, 6th hairpin bend, Yercaud Lake, Bus Stand, Ladies Seat, Shevaroys Hill, Pakoda Point, and Kuppanur Junction.

Three to four mechanics will be available in each stall on Saturday.

On Sunday around 50 mechanics will be on duty to carry out the repair and maintenance works.

The vehicle owners have to pay for spare parts. In case of flat tyres, two-wheeler riders need just to make a call to the mobile numbers provided below.

The mechanics will do everything from removing the tyres to fixing puncture, and refitting them. The vehicle user should pay for the cost incurred to fix puncture. The mobile numbers are: Srinivasan — 9345153894, K. Mahendran — 9842609878, and A.S. Devarajan — 9488838669.
