It took place on Hosur-Krishnagiri NH
Five people, including three women and an infant, were killed in an accident near Shoolagiri on the Hosur-Krishnagiri National Highway on Tuesday.
According to police, the car occupied by the deceased V. Rajesh (28), his wife R.T. Chandra (26) their baby R. Agama, relative S. Umadevi (53) and her daughter S. Divya (27) hit a tipper lorry which jumped out of the road from the opposite direction after hitting a median.

The driver of the tipper fled from the scene.
Enquiry reveals that Rajesh, an officer in a private company in Chennai, who was driving his SUV, was proceeding to Bangalore from Chennai. All of them hailed from Kozhikode in Kerala.
Rajesh took along his family and two others (relatives of his wife) for an official meeting to be held on Wednesday in Bangalore.
The empty tipper lorry from Hosur was proceeding to Krishnagiri.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the family members after the post mortem at the Government Hospital in Hosur.

The tipper was not crossing the road but hit the median and fell on the
opposite road(not sure how? its a three lane road and not a junction).
The driver should be charged for murder, else he can easily escape.
Rajesh velu /was very close biz partner & very nice person/family . I have myself driven with family several times day /night Bangalore via Hosur-krishnagiri highway since 5-6 years now. This highway is supposed to be very safe with 4 lane and travellers prefer via this route after paying heavy toll charges at each point in NH BLR-CHE . It is shocking and suprising that Lorry can easily cross over the Divider and head on collision without any horn / Light. At the same time it is warning & lesson to all the private Car drivers/family who work on various companies who take on road after working since Morning & driving without proper rest /sleep with family..
There's a clear need for more police check-points and a higher number of ambulances on guard. While we try everything to prevent such accidents, perhaps we should also be prepared to ensure timely medical help for such incidents as well. We need to have well equipped trauma units placed near accident prone areas(Hosur is definitely one such place).
We do not want to lose loved ones when we could have saved them with timely help.
