Teachers

The decision is in accordance with Mayor S.M. Velusamy's budgetary announcement, the resolution said and added that the civic body would appoint a teacher in each of the nine schools and would continue to appoint a teacher for the next five years till 2016-17 academic year.

To meet the expenses and pay the salary of the teachers, to be appointed on contract, the Corporation had allotted Rs. 6 lakh.

The resolution also said that though this was the original proposal, the civic body had decided to introduce an English medium section in Plus One in each of the higher secondary schools that did not have one. This was in deference to the decision of the Corporation Committee on Education, Parks and Playgrounds.

The Corporation would ask the State Government to sanction posts for appointing teachers for the purpose, the resolution added.
