With colleges all set to reopen for the academic year 2016-17 the police are gearing up to conduct anti-ragging drives at the institutions.
The police used to have anti-raging complaint boxes in all the colleges, which were monitored by officers at the nearest police station.
“This year we will popularise the whatsapp complaint number 8190000100 of the police. This will help students bring the grievances to our notice quicker, and redress them in a timely manner,” said City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj.
He added that all the police stations will organise meetings for the managements, principals, and student representatives on ragging.
