Dengue: Two admitted in Dharmapuri GH

Fourteen year old K. Kalpana of Modhukulaalli village near Palacode and thirty-seven year old V. Jothi of Anumanthapuram near Palacode taluk in Dharmapuri district were admitted in Government Medical College Hospital in Dharmapuri on Thursday.

Blood test of the Kalpana was tested positive and that of Jothi was yet to be received from the laboratory in the hospital, a medical officer said.

A medical officer told The Hindu on Friday that three women were admitted with Dengue symptoms on Thursday night. Of the three, one was tested negative and was sent to the general ward.

Kalpana and Jothi are admitted in special Dengue Ward. They are being given latest treatments at the hospital including periodical checking of platelet counts of the patients etc., the medical officer adds.

A separate ward with four beds was established for admitting patients with Dengue symptoms.

When asked whether a nine year old A. Arun from Krishnagiri GH was admitted in Medical College Hospital, the doctor said he has no knowledge about it.
