The two-day Summer Festival-cum-Spice Show organised by the district administration and the departments of horticulture and tourism at Gudalur concluded on Tuesday.
With more exhibits made of spices being added the show was more impressive on the second day.
Attractive
Giving away prizes to those who had helped make the show attractive and educative and those who had excelled in various competitions conducted as part of the event, the Nilgiris Collector, Archana Patnaik, said that special funds had been made available by the government this year for the conduct of the show. She promised that it would be effectively used to promote tourism in Gudalur.
The District Revenue Officer, S. Kuppusamy, presided.
The Revenue Divisional Officer, S. Dhanasekaran, welcomed the gathering.
The Assistant Director of Horticulture, S. Tamizhmani, proposed a vote of thanks.
Best stall
While the prize for the best stall was bagged by the Department of Horticulture, the second prize went to the Forest Department and the third was won by the Devarshola Panchayat.
