Crackers burst beyond time limit

October 28, 2011 10:21 am | Updated 10:21 am IST - Tirupur:

Despite warnings from authorities concerned, people were seen bursting crackers beyond 10 p.m. and in narrow lanes across the city during the Deepavali celebrations causing inconvenience to aged persons and people suffering from respiratory diseases.

Not a single case, however, was registered against the violators in the district.

Meanwhile, the Regional Laboratory of Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board could not come out with the noise and air pollution details on Thursday even though every year such data would be released very next day of Deepavali.

Regional Laboratory sources told The Hindu that the data would be disclosed on Monday, five days after Deepavali.
