Corporation launches ‘Super 30’

The Coimbatore Corporation, on Wednesday, launched the ‘Super 30’ initiative for well-performing Plus Two students in Corporation schools to encourage them to aspire for premier institutions of higher education. Training Under this initiative, a group of 30 students drawn from 12 Corporation schools will be trained to apply for professional groups such as medicine and engineering in top institutions.

All these students have excelled in recent examinations and were toppers in recent examinations.

Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan conducted the first class in the subject of physics at a Corporation Higher Secondary School at North Coimbatore here. He touched on the topic of 'mnemonics.'

Special examinations would be held for the students in January. In order to infuse a competitive sense, he announced cash prizes ranging from Rs.1,000 to Rs.500 for the top three toppers in each subject.

Further, he also directed the Corporation education officials to commence special classes for academically weak students in their respective schools.
