Man convicted for impersonating as an inspector

A judicial magistrate court in Ooty, The Nilgiris, has on Friday convicted a 36-year-old and sentenced him to undergo eights months imprisonment.

Sources said that the Magistrate S. Santhanakumar found B. Jayaraman of Bangalore guilty of forgery for the purpose of cheating, using as genuine a forged document and impersonation as a public servant.

The prosecution – Town Central Police – case was that Jayaraman impersonated as an inspector of police in Bangalore and stayed in various lodges and hotels in the hill station without paying bill. On suspicion, a hotel owner lodged a complaint.
