Concern over transfer of Karnataka CJ

Former Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions and Parliamentary Affairs S.R. Balasubramoniyan expressed concern over the transfer of Chief Justice of Karnataka Dhirendra Hiralal Waghela as Chief Justice of Orissa even as the court was hearing an appeal in the wealth case, filed by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Speculations

Expressing dissatisfaction over the transfer, Mr. Balasubramoniyan said in a statement that this sudden move of the Supreme Court had led to speculations around the wealth case verdict.

Transparency

He expressed the need for transparency in the transfer of the Chief Justice to bring about clarity on the issue among the public.
