Commissioner rewards personnel

City Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan on Thursday congratulated two police personnel and handed over cash rewards for their swift action that led to the arrest of a person transporting narcotic products and seizure of close to 5 kg of ganja.

According to police, Special Sub-Inspector M. Nagarajan and head constable K. Muralidharan spotted a person moving around under suspicious circumstances near the flyover at Ondipudur. They intercepted the person and on examination they found him to be having close to 5 kg of ganja. Inquiries revealed that the accused P. Ravi (40) of Usilampatti in Theni had procured Ganja from Andhra Pradesh and was heading towards Veerakeralam. The two policemen arrested him and initiated legal proceedings.
