According to police, Ganapathy Murugan working in an educational institution in Chidambaram had preferred a complaint stating that he was in love with his classmate Anitha Esther, when they studied under-graduation together in Tuticorin.

He said that the affair lasted for 13 years.

When he insisted on getting married, she reportedly sought a loan for clearing the debt of nearly Rs. 60 lakh incurred by her father.
