Carcass of Indian Mongoose found

August 14, 2017 08:11 am | Updated 08:11 am IST - Tirupur

A group of animal activists belonging to Nature Society of Tirupur recovered remains of an Indian Grey Mongoose from near Karuvallur on Sunday. A.D. Senthilrajan of the Society told The Hindu that it looked like a case of poaching.

“We suspect killing of the animal as there are myths in the society that consumption of the species’ meat could cure diseases,” he said.

The matter was reported to the Forest Department before the Society members buried the remains.
