Pollachi Private Schools’ Welfare Association has urged the State Government to withdraw a recent notice issued by Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) asking private schools to obtain a second technical approval of their buildings or regularise their buildings by paying infrastructural and amenities fees.

Letter

In a letter to the Commissioner of Town and Country Planning, association president R. Lakshmanasamy said that the private schools had already obtained building plan approvals from the respective local bodies.

Further, the buildings, land and infrastructural facilities have also been regularised by various departments such as Public Works Department, School Education, Public Health, Fire and Rescue Services besides the district administration.

As such, he said that private schools must be exuded from the purview of the recent notice asking them to obtain DTCP approval. He urged the State Government to withdraw the notice or amend the rules.
