The body of a 23-year-old Tamil youth, allegedly murdered by his colleagues in a petrol bunk in London, was brought here on Wednesday by an Indian Airlines flight.

The body of Saravanakumar Sellapan, a resident of Namakkal in Tamil Nadu, was later taken from here to his hometown by his relatives, police said.

Jacob Ravibalan, an office-bearer of World Tamil Organisation in London, accompanied the body of Saravanakumar.

According to Ravibalan, Saravanakumar, who did his MBA from UK and was working in a petrol Bunk in Cryodon, was allegedly beaten to death on October 18 by his colleagues after he refused to part with a Blackberry cell phone handset.

Though many requests were made to both the British and Indian governments, no help was forthcoming to bring the body to Namakkal, Ravibalan said, adding that the organisation was able to bring it after 45 days.
