BJP functionary injured

Bharatiya Janata Party Coimbatore urban district president C.R. Nandhakumar was injured in Thudiyalur on Friday when the police used force to disperse an agitated crowd.

Discharged from hospital

He suffered head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where he had seven stitches on his head. He was later discharged.

Mr. Nandhakumar said he was there to pacify the crowd when he got hit in the head during police action.

The BJP leaders were there to participate in the funeral procession of slain leader C. Sasikumar.
