Army exercise at LPG plant

Such training programmes are routine, according to official sources

The officials of the 414 ASC Battalion Marketing (Territorial Army) and personnel are taking part in ‘Gas Pradeepan,’ a technical exercise at the LPG bottling plant of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Peelamedu here for the last five days.

The six-day exercise will end on Sunday.

The troop is being led by commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Suman Kumar Mishra. Among those who took part included BPCL Senior Manager A. Jabamalairaj, Chief Managers M.S. Jayaram, Gokhale and Dileep Kumar Revelli.

The personnel were stationed at their designated positions in the plant and handled independently the entire bottling operations.

The battalion regularly conducts training at important government installations during peace time and would take control during war time, the sources said.
