Hotels and malls in the city are getting ready to entertain their guests this Christmas. While a leading hotel has decorated a very tall Christmas tree, another has tried to grab the attention of customers with a tree made of empty liquor bottles.
On entering the lobby one cannot miss the 52 feet tall Christmas tree at Le Meridien. There is a ginger bread house with the aroma of the root wafting across. The hotel’s sales manager Karthik Rangaswamy said that the tree and the house are on display from Saturday and created by the hotel staff and added that every year, the hotel tries something new to provide a visual treat to customers.
At The Residency, a Christmas tree made of about 400 green coloured empty liquor bottles is drawing a good number of onlookers. General Manager of the hotel Erine Louis said other decorative materials used for decorating the tree included reused Thermocol, straw, soft drink cans, broken glasses, CDs and colour papers. Mr. Louis was hopeful that the idea will inspire people to use decorative items from reused materials.
