The verdict in the disproportionate assets case will decide AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala’s political future, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said here on Saturday.

Addressing reporters at the airport, he said her appointment as general secretary was an intra-party affair. “They could also elect her as Chief Minister. Whether people have accepted her or not will be known once she contests election,” Dr. Swamy said in reply to a question.

On jallikattu, he said he was hopeful that the Supreme Court would allow the traditional sport with restrictions.

He had taken steps to get the ban lifted.

As regards demonetisation, he said the Finance Ministry had failed to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s order but was now taking steps to mitigate the hardship.

However, it was a step in the right direction to fight black money, Dr. Swamy said.
