3 killed as car falls into dry well

Three persons were killed and two children injured, when a car fell into a dry well at Karadimadai near Perur on the outskirts of the city. The deceased were identified as Meena (28), Vasanthamani (51) and Siva (37), car driver.

As the driver switched on the engine, the vehicle ran out of control and fell into the dry well.

With the help of a rope, people got into the well and rescued the children – Indrajit (6) and Bhavanji (3).

The children have been admitted to a hospital.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The police have registered a case.
