Twenty-seven Special Sub Inspectors (SSIs), who were promoted as Sub Inspectors (SIs), were greeted by City Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan at his office here on Monday. These policemen joined the force as Grade-II constables more than 25 years ago and were promoted to the rank of SSIs a few years ago.

Training

On satisfactory service in the post for a few years, they were sent to the Tamil Nadu Police Academy a couple of months ago for physical training and courses in law. On completion of the 63 days training they returned to the city on Monday. They would undergo three-month training at police stations in the city, after which they will be posted as Sub Inspectors.
