25 solar water heaters installed at Erode GH

The solar heaters, donated by Rotary Club of Charlotte Harbor (USA) and Rotary Club of Erode, will fulfil the hot water needs of the public and in-patients.

Solar water heaters worth Rs. 6.5 lakh were donated by Rotary Club of Charlotte Harbor, USA, and Rotary Club of Erode, to the Government Headquarters Hospital on Thursday.

The Rotary Clubs had spent 10,000 US Dollars for purchase of 25 solar heaters. District Collector V.K. Shanmugam commissioned the solar water heaters in the presence of the Hospital Dean R. Krishnakumar, Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3202 Sakthi Nallasivan, Rotarian S. Ashok Kumar, and senior Health Department officials.

The solar heaters will fulfil the hot water needs of the public and the in-patients. Hot water connections have been provided to all wards, Dr. Krishnakumar said.
