209 cases settled in Lok Adalat

A total of 209 cases were settled in the Lok Adalat conducted on premises of the Coimbatore District Court here on Saturday.

The total amount disbursed as settlements during the cases was Rs. 4, 12, 76,500, including a sum of Rs. 3, 98, 01,500 in 206 Motor Claims Tribunal Original Petition  cases, and Rs. 14.75 lakh in three civil cases. The Adalat was conducted on directions from the Principal District Judge and Chairman of the Coimbatore District Legal Services Authority, N. Seshasayee. Retired District Judges A. Noor Ahamed, A.S. Kannan and M.R. Thangaraju conducted the Adalat.
