Boy's death: U.P. Opposition blames it on Kanpur administration

Major Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday blamed the local administration for the death of an 8-year-old boy due to imposition of security curbs during the Prime Minister's visit to the city and said they would raise the issue in the Assembly.

Flaying the administration, the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Samajwadi Party demanded strict action against the guilty for what they said was an avoidable tragedy.

“Nowhere in the Prime Minister's security directions is it written that during his visit no injured or ill person should not be taken to hospital,” Congress MLA Sanjeev Dariyabadi said.
