Coming down heavily on the price rise of essential commodities in the state, the BJP announced plans to stage a rally here on April 5, to be attended by its national president Nitin Gadkari.
The state government had totally failed to control price rise and so a rally is planned, which will be attended by more than 15000 party workers and addressed by Gadkari, Assam unit BJP president Ranjit Dutta told reporters here.
On the infiltration issue, Dutta said his party will highlight the issue as also the alleged large scale encroachment of the state’s land by the Bangladeshi intruders.
The party demanded that the CBI probe ordered into the multi crore North Cachar hill development fund scandal be speeded up so that the culprits are brought to book.
“Our party also demands granting of world heritage status to Majuli river island in upper Assam which is Asia’s largest on the Brahmaputra, a longstanding demand of the state”, Dutta said.
