Trust techies to come up with an innovative (read digital) way of celebrating the holiday season. Such an innovative attempt is Infosys’ digitally-powered interactive app the ‘Infosys Greet-a-thon’.
The app, developed internally by cross functional teams within the company, provided a fun way for all employees of the company to greet each other during the festive season and also send a choice of e-gifts such as chocolates, cakes, flowers, scented candles, coffee mugs and friendship bands to each other. This app had been specially created for Christmas and recipients of gifts can see their gifts on a digital Christmas tree (available internally) that keeps growing as more gifts are exchanged.
Says Nandita Gurjar, Senior Vice President, Group Head of Human Resources, Member - Executive Council, of the company: “Infosys is constantly looking for new ways to engage its vast workforce of over 1,50,000 spread across 32 countries. Employees at all levels, across the world have been exchanging gifts and mails have been pouring in congratulating us on this innovative way to spread cheer – virtual, fast and paperless. We have witnessed a lot of enthusiasm around this initiative, including people at senior levels who have actively participated in spreading the cheer. We have seen that e-gifts of cakes and chocolates were extremely popular. So far 1,00,000 plus Infoscions have sent over 1.7 million gifts and counting! We will also be putting the link externally with a scroll running below the tree showing all the gifts exchanged during this holiday season.”
