The Dussera festivities at DakshinaChitra is a celebration of Karnataka’s tradition and culture. The event is sponsored by Department of Kannada and Culture, Karnataka. As part of the celebrations, DakshinaChitra has invited Somanakunitha artists from Tumkur District of Karnataka to perform at the centre from October 6 to 14. The artists will perform and also give demonstrations on wooden mask painting.

The craftshop at DakshinaChitra will also present a special feature on Karnataka with a display of Kondapalli toys and golu dolls.

The heritage houses at DakshinaChitra will showcase golu in keeping with the Tamil Nadu tradition of Navaratri.
