Confirming the news, Sargunam says, “Yes, we are in talks with Hansika. A romantic comedy, the film is to be extensively shot in Kumbakonam, where the story takes place.”
Sources say that Dhanush's character is called Chinna Vandu. He is from a family that is into making and selling lamps in Kumbakonam. The heroine studies in a dental college. Actors Nasser, Sreeman, Sathyan, Suri, Lakshmi, Singampuli and Manobala will play important roles.
Another highlight is the director plans to make Dhanush croon a song for the film to the music of Gibran. Vaali, Arivumathi, Devendran, Na. Muthukumar and Karthik Netha have penned the songs for the film to be produced by S. Kathiresan ( Pollathavan and Aadukalam ).
Novel trailers
Director C. S. Amudhan of Tamil Padam fame seems all set to impress audiences yet again with his Rendavathu Padam , if one is to go by his film's trailers. The director has so far managed to keep the story a secret and despite the trailers, no one other than the team members has an idea of what it is all about.
The speciality of the first trailer is while certain scenes are shown, actor Vijayalakshmi, who plays one of the leads, states at the end of it that the scenes have nothing to do with the story or the film. The second trailer shows only the characters with Amudhan stating his film is a story about them.
When contacted, Amudhan, pleased that he has managed to keep the suspense intact, said, “I cannot disclose the details of the storyline. All I can say is 90 per cent of the film is done and we are just 15 days away from completing it. We will be shooting the climax in Dhanushkodi. We hope to release the film post Deepavali.”
The film features Vimal, Richard, Arvind Akash, Vijayalakshmi and Remya Nambeesan.
