Science is fun
Spark, a Science and Math Club is organising a winter Science workshop for kids 8 to 10 years. Topics covered will be Light, Sound, Air, Liquids and Ecology . Sample activities include using prisms to understand how light splits, understanding air pressure, creating models to observe earthworm behaviour etc.

Open book exam
Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras announces an exam competition for school students of Tamil Nadu to mark its 50th year celebration. The competition will be in Tamil based on a Tamil book with 51 stories on Gandhian values correlated to a culture of Peace.
Prizes will be awarded to the best three.
Register with the school principal by paying Rs.30 and get the book and the questionnaire free. The fee is to be sent by D.D. on behalf of ‘Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras’ before January 5, 2013. The books and the questionnaires will arrive before January 25, 2013.
The exam will be held on January 30.
Schools that enrol more than 100 students will be awarded with 10 copies of the book for their library.
