Complete trainer

Twenty years! I still can't believe. Have I grown old? I remember we got YW on Saturday. We used to wait to read it. It was so colourful, with lot of articles, pictures, information and fun as it is now too. Even now I keep collecting YW articles on Tuesdays. Twenty years ago also I used to be excited to read YW. It was the only supplement exclusively for kids. Today I use some of the information from this newspaper in my training sessions. I am work as a teacher trainer. Even now, when I see and read YW, I step back into the shoes of a ten year old kid curious to read stories, cartoons, puzzles, quiz, facts and so on.

Fine balance

Young World has crossed 20! This time period bears the testimony of its quality which has kept it going for so long. My proud association with YW began in 1994 when I was six years old. My father gave it to me to read aloud so that my English pronunciation could improve. That day I found it so interesting and ever since I have been reading it. It strikes a very good balance between information and fun. Tuhin Sengupta, 740,Lakegarden, P.O. Laskarpur, Kolkata-153 W.B

Collector's item

I remember reading YW for the first time when I was in Std. III. I used to study the YW Quiz and this helped me a lot in winning quizzes in my school. I also used to collect the cuttings of comic strips and paste it in “My Scrap Book”.

Loving tutor

My parents introduced Young World to me when I was in Std. III. My brother and I enjoy reading it — from the first page till the last. My joy knew no bounds when my drawing was published in it.

YW is the second tutor for every young reader as it moulds the child and helps in gaining knowledge.

For the family

I eagerly wait for Tuesdays because that is the day Young World comes home. And this is the day we all fight for it including my mom and dad. It broadens my knowledge and there is so much to learn from it. I simply love the short stories, puzzles, competitions and cartoons. I cut out the articles that interest me and paste it in my scrap book.

A wide variety

I started reading Young World at the age of six . The paper has many jokes, puzzles, quizzes, riddles and so on. Because of the quiz I got many prizes in my school too. During the festival seasons and on some special days there are some very interesting stories.

Fascinating

I have been reading The Hindu for the last few decades. Though I am 60 years old now I am still fascinated by Young World. I do most of the puzzles. But nowadays I cut these articles and send to my grandson who is six years old and staying at Bangalore.

One for each

Up until now, I was the only one to read Young World. But of late my younger sister and two cousins residing next door have become interested in YW and they want a copy for themselves. So now in all we get four issues of The Hindu on Tuesdays. Some time in the day we read it page by page through the week until the next issue is on hand. Young World is helping children develop positive thinking. The joy and satisfaction of possessing a copy exclusively for her or himself as a companion and an educator is really different.

Really young

YW has really made me young. It frees me from all my tensions. We are not subscribing to The Hindu at home, but we get it is available in the school. Every Tuesday I go to school a bit early, so that I can read YW. I think I might be the first person in my school to read YW every Tuesday. Sometimes I am so early that even the library would not have been opened.

Memorable

Yes I do remember the first time when I picked up a copy of Young World. I was in Std V. My drawing had been published in YW. I was also very happy that and a person named Velu from Nagerkoil praised that drawing and sent me a gift of patriotic songs. Now my sister is in Std V and a couple of weeks ago, her drawing was pulished and she also won a prize in one of the competitions.

Must read

I have been an ardent reader of Young World from the time it started when I was in college. I have not missed reading even one issue of Young World. I read all pages which is full of big and small, old and new information which I really enjoy reading even now. I admire the paintings in Kaleidoscope by the little kids bringing out the creativity in them. I collect all Young world editions and after reading pass it on to children who cannot afford buying the same. I want all children to read the YW because it is full of knowledge and creativity.
