You’d never think as you walk into one of Hyderabad’s microbreweries, that it’d be a great space to pull out you laptop and get to work.
Eight months since it started, Zero40 has dazzled with its capacity to host a good party, be it during sporting events or private do’s. Few know of this, but the second floor has made an easy transition into a spacious and naturally illuminated co-working space.
The space features the usual perks of high speed wi-fi and a recreation area complete with a pool table. Attractive tariffs that are saddled with fulfilled promises of food and drink are probably the biggest pull factor here, followed closely by the vibrantly eclectic decor.
A break away from the usual
Designed by Hyderabad-based architect Rohit Suraj of Urban Zen, the whole establishment is reflective of his ‘form follows fiction’ approach.
The space is not cluttered but neither is it bare; canvas posters echoing sentiments related to dining and working stand out against the cement brick façade of the walls. The charmingly scuffed wooden floors and the leather upholstery call for a more homely and relaxing vibe, unlike the usual nylon carpeting and white walls of the offices we are so used to.
To keep yourself going, there’s a juicery available and soon Zero40 will be coming out with a coffee menu to get you on a work-friendly high.
The music that drifts up to the second floor is not so loud that it distracts you but soft enough to be pretty pleasing background music.
Rohit’s German style minimalism here speaks volumes of Zero40 Brewing’s fun and personable character. With such great natural light, there is very little need for artificial lighting here; plus, it’s a great way to soak in the pretty views of Jubilee Hills’ sprawling mansions.
According to Anil, the General Manager, businesses such as Deloitte often have smaller teams come to the space to switch it up. With the natural lighting courtesy the large windows as well as the pretty decor, there are plenty of reasons to keep coming back if the usual cubicled offices are driving you up the wall.
The core of Zero40’s co-working space is not to have a place to really get your head down but to have a relaxed space filled with like-minded people looking to be in a social space without the hassles of a coffee shop.
