Bolt clocks second fastest time of the year
Usain Bolt made up for a horrible start to win the 100 m race at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston in a time of 9.88 seconds.
That is the second fastest time this year, behind only Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut’s 9.86 seconds.
Nickel Ashmeade and Yohan Blake were second and third respectively in 9.94, while Asafa Powell finished fourth in 9.98 seconds, in a power-packed field.
Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce won the women’s 100 m race in a time of 11.09 seconds.

Saina wins Australian Open for second time
Saina Nehwal won her second Australian Open Superseries title in three years by defeating Sun Yu from China in the finals on Sunday that lasted for an hour and 11 minutes.
After losing the first game 11-21, Saina came back strongly to clinch the second game 2-14. The third game was evenly contested, before Saina eventually emerged victorious after clinching the game 21-19.

South Africa stumble to defeat against Australia
Australia opener David Warner scored a 120-ball 109 to set up their score of 288 for six in the allotted 50 overs.
South Africa seemed to be cruising in their chase after half centuries from Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis. The wicket of captain AB de Villiers, however, shifted the momentum towards Australia as the Proteas lost their last seven wickets for 42 runs, falling short of their target by 36 runs.

US beat Paraguay 1-0, Costa Rica defeat Colombia 3-2
The United States emerged as the winners of Group A in Copa America Centenario after both results went in their favour.
While Clint Dempsey’s goal gave them a 1-0 win over Paraguay, they then watched a much-changed Colombia go down 3-2 against Costa Rica – a result that gave the top place to US.
Violence mars England-Russia draw
Fan violence at the stadium and outside pushed the attention away from football as Russia clawed their way back in a 1-1 draw against England.
After Eric Dier had scored the opener in the 77th minute, Russia captain Vasili Berezutski headed the equaliser in injury time.
Wales beat Slovakia 2-1 and Switzerland defeated 10-man Albania 1-0 in other matches on Saturday.

Oltmans surprised with youngsters’ show
India coach Roelant Oltmans said that the youngsters’ show in the ongoing Champions Trophy in London has come to him as a pleasant surprise.
Following the 3-3 draw against Germany, India defeated Great Britain 2-1 on Saturday to take their tally to four points from two games.
