Woakes believes his best is yet to come

Fresh from his knock of 95 not out, the highest score by a number eight batsman in one-day international history, that helped England tie the opening ODI against Sri Lanka, all-rounder Chris Woakes believes that his best years are ahead of him.

The 27-year-old might not have been playing at all had Ben Stokes been fit, but Woakes is sure that with the increasing workload in international cricket, both all-rounders might have a role in the England set-up.

It’s a repeat final in Copa America Centenario

Charles Aranguiz opened the scoring in the seventh minute and Jose Pedro Feunzalida added a second four minutes later as Chile won a rain-marred Copa America Centenario semi-final against Colombia 2-0.

Despite the weather stalling play for over two hours during halftime, Chile came back to finish the job, despite wave after wave of attacks from the Colombians.

That means that the final on Sunday against Argentina would be repeat of the one Chile won last year.

Brady helps Irish through; Ronaldo finally scores

Republic of Ireland scored through Robbie Brady in the 85th minute, giving them a sensational 1-0 win over already-qualified Italy and a place in the last 16. Ireland, who qualified as one of the four best third-placed teams, will take on hosts France in the round of 16.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to help Portugal to a high-scoring 3-3 draw against Hungary, a result that steered Portugal through to the next round. While Hungary finished top of Group F, Iceland finished second after their 2-1 win over Austria and Portugal ended up third.

Belgium won the other match in Group E 1-0 to progress to the next round in a game that signalled the end of Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s international career.
