Literary activities at AVP School
Tirupur: The John Milton Club activity was organised at the AVP Trust Public School recently.
The students participated enthusiastically, and the judges were AVP Trust Institutions.
Competitions like poster making, caption writing, vocab connection etc. were conducted on topics such as empowerment of the girl child and conservation of nature.
Aristo student excels at chess
Cuddalore: K. Bhava Chakra Narayanan of class VII, Aristo Public School, participated in and won first place at the U-13 District-Level Chess Tournament.
After this, he is eligible to participate in State-Level Chess competitions. He was appreciated by the Founder of APS, A. S.Chokkalingam, the Chairman A.C.Sivakumar, and the Principal.
Change of guard at Camford International
Coimbatore: The Camford International School celebrated its fifth investiture ceremony recently. The chief guest for the occasion was Deputy Commandant Ashish Kumar, Chief Security Officer, Coimbatore International Airport. The students were invested by the chief guest, chairman Arul Ramesh, correspondent Poongothai Arul Ramesh and the principal S. G. Kavita.
During the ceremony the newly selected members of the school council were officially vested with their Badges and Sashes
Chettinad Vidyashram holds Sports Day
Chennai: The 29th annual sports day of the Chettinad Vidyashram was celebrated at the Nehru Stadium. Dr. Meena Muthiah, Kumarani of Chettinad, presided over the function.
The function opened with a march past with the school band in attendance featuring all competitors from teams Emerald, Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire. This was followed by mass drill, and yoga demonstrations.
Emerald House bagged the championship trophy from A.G.Ponn Manickavel, IPS, Deputy IG (Idol) wing CID. S. Amuda Lakshmi, Principal, welcomed the gathering.
Battle of Brains at GKD Matric
Coimbatore: The Dr.D. Jayavarthanavelu Memorial Interschool Quiz competition was held in GKD Matric.Hr.Sec.School , Periyanaickenpalayam.
The Quiz master Dr. M. Ragarajan, Prof of corporate secretaryship in PSG Arts & Science College conducted the “Battle of Brains”.
Nearly 180 students from 30 schools had participated. The first phase was the written elimination round consisting of 90 teams.
The quiz had a rapid fire in the final round with 6 teams. Finally the best 3 teams emerged as the winners.
The correspondent R.Rajendran awarded the First prize of Rs.10,000/- & trophy for Vidya Niktan Public School, Rs.5000/- & trophy for GD Matric.Hr.Sec.School and Rs.3000/- for Yuva Bharathi Public school respectively.
